On a walk home from the park today, I could feel a parch come on. I grabbed a stick of dried lavender from the bushes I always steal lavender from and made this treat. The blossoms are really gorgeous, so I thumbed around for a photo backdrop and found a sheet of paper from the summer where I wrote “dragon skin in the smog.” I don’t remember why I wrote that, but it’s exactly what these buds look like to me =)
if you’ve foraged your herbs, be sure to wash them under cool water in a mesh strainer. submerge them in a bowl of water, swish briefly, and let sit for about 10 minutes to let any other debris sink to the bottom. lay them out to dry on a towel if you’d like to hold onto them or toss em straight into a pot.
~coconut milk beverage of choice in a small pot
~rub off lavender buds into the milk
~simmer on medium-low for 5 minutes (rich flavor) or 1 minute for a light infusion
~spoon of honey serenely stirred
~strain lavender through your mesh and into a cozy cup
the cococcino can be enjoyed before bed for optimal cozy. rub excess lavender oils under your nose and on your temples for extra snooze vibes ( ´O`)~
