Rural Futures

a mid-fellowship stream ﹏﹏﹏﹏
2

An early morning stream of thoughts as I round out my third week on the road with fellows and faculty as part of the Wright-Ingraham Institute’s Field Stations program. My communications are limited in this time, and there is very little energy to spare beyond the deeply immersive studies and synthesis taking place throughout this month, but I hope there is enough energy here for you to get a glimpse of where I’ve wandered. In the last stretch, we are preparing final projects and anticipating lectures on radical pedagogies and mycology.

From my perch in the San Juan mountains, solstice blessings to you!

A sketch of a map of Pueblo Bonito. Dr. Ted Jojola of the Indigenous Design and Planning Institute led us through the architectural and cultural history of the pueblos, and pointed out that many of these structures were built in alignment with star systems like the Pleiades.
